Built in 1998, the Funicamp is the gateway to the richness and history of the environment and the Pyrenean landscape, and places Encamp practically at the foot of the slopes. It is the only funitel cable car in the Pyrenees. The cabins have 24 seats. In summer it is also the starting point for many hiking trails and guided 4x4 excursions, a comfortable and different way to discover high mountain scenery, hiking or try your luck with fishing. There is also the possibility of stopping at the intermediate station of Funicamp to enjoy a walk through the valley of Els Cortals, where we can photograph its peculiar rural and mountain landscape or go through a via ferrata, various routes on foot or practice climbing in the outdoor climbing wall of Els Cortals and even live a unique experience -on the route that goes from the Cubil Lake to the Pessons Lake- as it is to observe marmots.
The Grau de la Llosa viewpoint will undoubtedly show you one of the most spectacular views of the Principality. Located at the highest point of the Quer plateau, this viewpoint offers a panoramic view over the valleys of Sorteny, Rialb and Arcalís. Wooden benches, an identifying totem and an orientation map complete the space. This viewpoint is located in an area of easy access and the route to access it is of moderate level. However, we recommend you to be properly equipped with appropriate clothing and footwear and bring water, sunglasses and sunscreen, among other accessories. As for the fauna, you can observe the accentor, the coal tit, the crested tit, the wren and the green woodpecker, among other birds. You can also contemplate the flight of the majestic eagles, such as the short-toed eagle or the golden eagle.
Located at an altitude of 1896 meters, at km. 4 of the CS520 road from the village of Arinsal, is the Roca de la Sabina viewpoint. From here, you can appreciate the destructive passage of an avalanche that fell in 1996 on the village of Arinsal. You can also admire the alpine meadows, which are formed at 2300 meters and occupy most of the Andorran territory, and are inhabited by a variety of insects and livestock in the grazing season. Enjoy the views and take the opportunity to observe high mountain birds, which live here all year round, such as the raven or the red-billed chough, and seasonal birds such as the alpine accentor in winter or the black redstart and the greenfinch in summer.
