Located in the largest parish of Andorra known as Canillo, we find the small village of Meritxell known mainly for its huge and beautiful sanctuary. But in this place where barely a hundred people live, it is well worth coming to know its old town as well as other places beyond its sanctuary such as the Church of Santa Maria next to the sanctuary and its oldest streets of stone and slate. Located in the heights at more than 2,000 meters, the municipality of Meitxell has a spectacular viewpoint from where you can enjoy nature. From this viewpoint we can see perfectly the valley of Canillo with the river Valira d'Orient at his feet and the great extensions of forest.
