It is known for its Romanesque paintings. It is a building of small dimensions that follows the architectural scheme typical of Andorran Romanesque churches: rectangular nave with wooden roof and semicircular apse. It has a belfry with a double opening and a portico probably added in modern times. Inside, the apse is covered with a quarter-sphere vault and the original altar and part of the Romanesque decoration (12th-13th century) are preserved. The liturgical furnishings include a processional thorn cross, located in the Pal Romanesque Art Interpretation Center, and a 15th century altarpiece dedicated to the patron saint of the church, the first bishop of Toulouse, with the anagrams of Christ and the Virgin.
Building constructed in the XVII century, very possibly on the foundations of an old medieval construction. Inside it preserves a pictorial cycle with representations of the Blessed Sacrament and the Passion of Christ by the painter Josep Oromí from the 19th century.
Avinguda Meritxell, the commercial hub of the capital and central sector of The Shopping Mile, is part of the nerve center of the Principality's economic life. Erts is a small town in the Principality of Andorra located at the crossroads between the towns of Pal, Arinsal and La Massana, in the valley of Vallnord. The village is located at an altitude of 1347 meters and according to the statistics department of Andorra, it is inhabited by a total of 494 people. Surrounded by forests and mountains we reach Erts on the CG-4 after leaving behind the neighboring town of La Massana. A traffic circle with the detour to Pal or Arinsal marks the center of Erts. Its particular orography, in an essentially rural and abrupt environment, has meant that most of the buildings constructed over time have been built on the margins of the road. Hence, Erts is basically a residential town, characterized by being a quiet place to live, well located and close to quality services. From Erts you can access Pal and Arinsal. Like all the confluences of roads, the hospitality and the embers are the characteristics of its traditional bordas, some of them converted into restaurants. If you are fond of via ferrata, you have an appointment not to be missed.
With a modern tourist and cultural complex contrasting with the more traditional buildings. Massanenses are dynamic and innovative people and this is reflected in the variety of leisure proposals. If you are staying in La Massana, you can enjoy this richness both gastronomic and commercial, tourist proposals also offer visitors a variety of ways to enjoy and learn about our parish, museums, nature, gastronomy, culture and entertainment.
This beautiful downhill walk begins on the plateau of San Ermengol. If we go to the right of the stream, heading north, we can go to the oratory of San Antoni de la Grella, where we can see the water catchment of the stream and the Romanesque bridge of San Antoni. To follow this itinerary we will have to take the path on the left. The reguera is oriented towards the valley of Andorra la Vella, making a turn to the southwest. As we walk, we will be able to see a large number of orchards where the farmers of the parish grow their own food. If we continue walking, we will see that a couple of meters above the gully, there is a picnic area with a magnificent viewpoint.
The Puerto de Envalira viewpoint is located at an altitude of over 2,400 meters, a few kilometers from the urban center of Pas de la Casa. Located in an over-width of the road, the viewpoint has a vegetation area, a pedestrian section and a parking lot, among other spaces. Facing the village of Encamp, this viewpoint offers spectacular views over the Orient valley. To enhance your experience, the space also has two wooden benches, which will invite you to stop for a few moments to breathe and disconnect while contemplating the landscape that surrounds you! However, the attraction of this viewpoint does not end here, because, despite the spectacular views over the encamped mountains, this viewpoint will make you travel back in time: the space has a small house -fully sustainable and powered by solar panels and batteries- built with the essence of the first hut built in Pas de la Casa, where you can learn firsthand how the cowboys lived in the past.
