The Sorteny Valley Natural Park is located in the parish of Ordino and is a botanical paradise for lovers of flora and fauna. During the year, thematic guided excursions are organized. In addition, it has routes of different levels of difficulty so that everyone can discover the secrets hidden there. Among the species of fauna that can be seen are the chamois, the marten or the Pyrenean newt. From the park you can climb two of the highest peaks in the Principality; the Estanyó peak (2,915 meters) and the Serrera peak (2,913m). In addition, the park has the Sorteny refuge, which is guarded both in winter and summer and offers a restaurant service. The presence of iron and copper mineralization allowed for the development of mining operations between the 17th and 19th centuries, specifically in the Serrera area, at an altitude of over 2,000 meters.
